52 desires that triumph over lust

It has been a long while since I started this list of 52 desires (one for each week in the year) or beliefs that overwhelm the desire we have to use porn. I noticed today that is not accurate to focus our desires in triumph over porn itself but rather lust. It is important to name the exact object that you seek to destroy. Porn in and of itself, according to Jesus is evil- there is no porn which brings glory to God. none whatsoever. No matter who says otherwise, The crucified savior of the world says otherwise.

So more specifically our struggle is not with Porn as an industry or a thing, but with what comes from inside of us- Lust for people, things, experiences which are not ours to have.

So with that in mind, consider that lust is a type of GLORY seeking and glory getting that replaces the opportunity we had to BEHOLD the glory of God.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17–18.

The glory we BEHOLD when lusting after another is the feeling that the object of our lust is looking back at us with a very powerful desire to have us sexually to give us their glory. Sexual desires are not evil at all, but lust - or sexual desire without glory going to God is evil. God created the world in a manner that the most powerful sexual desires are to be honored and protected in a man and woman's marriage relationship. In union as man and wife, and no where else. His reasons for this are manifold and will be explored in other articles.

Go with me now into a moment of faith, deep heart clearing faith to BEHOLD GOD, Don't skip over this next part but read it again and see where glory is set up as the catalyst for change:

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17–18.

Is is not wrong to desire acceptance, to desire intimate relationships, to desire and long for climatic moments with another. But what happens when you receive a kind of glory- acceptance, attention, praise in a moment of watching porn or adultery? Not only do you create a neural pathway in your brain that if reinforced with more behavior which will set you up for addiction, but you also forfeit the best avenue for pleasure- BEHOLD THE GLORY OF GOD. By receiving inverted glory through the fake acceptance of porn you forfeit the glory of God Almighty.

Choose this day to BEHOLD the glory of Christ, crucified, buried, risen and reigning. Choose this moment that when the desire for glory from created beings in images on your screen comes, choose then to read and memorize this "gateway" passage and then put it into action.

How do you BEHOLD the GLORY of the LORD?

-Worship God in song, sing as loud as you can and fix your mind on Christ crucified, risen and reigning.

-Scream for help from the man who is God, pray and read the psalms

- PRAY with recognition, the confession that your soul depends upon it

-call, text, email a brother or sister in Christ and ask for prayer

-Memorize passages that fill your mind with the glory of God

Now before you read the following passages, you get to decide if you believe they are up for your interpretation

and use or if they are written as the eternal WORD of GOD ALMIGHTY, not open for discussion, not up for debate on the humanistic tour, not simply words on a page or screen, but by FAITH in GOD, these WORDS can move inside of you, change you, lift you up and out of the ruts of unbelief in smaller, lesser, man given words. Choose now, to believe or reject what the scriptures say about themselves, choose now to believe the GOD of the universe is speaking and you must have faith to listen and hear HIM,:

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

Hebrews 1:1–4.

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14–16.

For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest and the sound of a trumpet and a voice whose words made the hearers beg that no further messages be spoken to them. For they could not endure the order that was given, “If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.” Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.” But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven

Hebrews 12:18–25.
