...then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth,
The promises of God to those who seek Him with their heart, mind and wallet.
Previously in the same chapter:
"And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail"
Heaven is within us, by the presence of God. Yet we settle often settle for the fake freedoms of pretending to be a christian when so many people need our help.
the promises above follow the directive from God to care for the poor and seek justice for the oppressed. THEN, THEN, THEN -
your light will break forth like. the dawn! Your joy will be full. Your pleasures will be found in God and nothing less. God will make you to ride on the heights of the earth.
But this vision is not for fakers, for those who just want to give their money to be seen by men or to check off their "giving, charity, I did a good thing" box. No, no, the giving must come from the heart, from a continual relationship with the broken and poor to help them rise up. A relationship with those who have nothing requires close proximity, knowing their names, their stories, inviting them into your home.
Then you will have the presence of God, the power of the source of eternal freedom.
My Father in heaven
Holy is your name
Your kingdom Come
Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
Send me with your strength and heart to KNOW and become friends with those in need
I want my light, my joy, my heart and mind to be free from the lies of this world
Come O come Immanuel, and ransom captive Israel.
Oh God come, and forgive me quickly of trying to look Christian when I do not engage my heart for the poor, or know their names, or invite them into my home. Forgive me and bless them. Use me to bless them from your hands, your house, your joy. Let us both ride upon the height of the earth!
